Alliance for Children and Youth of Waterloo Region Working Groups Teamwork


Prevention Working Group – established April 2003

Currently a small group of Alliance and community members is looking specifically at the prevention and early intervention aspects of the new Youth Criminal Justice Act. This working group intends to compliment the actions of another local committee, the Justice Advisory Group that is working to smoothly implement the act locally. Together, these two groups will provide a comprehensive view of how we can best serve the interests of the whole community by addressing youth crime in a manner that respects the integrity and developmental maturity of young people, while holding them appropriately responsible for their actions.
